Deron founded The Freecycle Network with a single email on May 1st, 2003 and is currently serving as its executive director. The Network has since grown to have over 6.7 million members in over 85 countries. Simply put, Freecycle makes it easier to locally give items away on a cyber-curbside than it is to throw them away.  In doing so, Freecycle members are keeping over 600 tons a day out of landfills as they “change the world one gift at a time.” This is the equivalent of over seven times the height of Mt Everest when stacked in garbage trucks in the past year alone. Freecycle.org has since been nominated to PC Mag’s top 101 websites list and has become the largest recycling and reuse website in the world.
