HerbieandChester

Next week’s planned show has been canceled due to the tragic and sudden loss of our little Herbie. Instead we will be re-airing an interview which was recorded in October 2009, with Bethanne Elion, Author of “Memoirs of the Bathtub Psychic: The True Story of a Clairvoyant and Her Dogs”.

This show will go out in tribute to Georgiann’s beloved Herbie (“Lovebug”) and her equally beloved Sheltie Chester who passed away in 1999.

Georgiann would like to thank everyone for their messages and kind words of comfort and support.

Tribute Show Date – Tuesday 16th February 2010
8:00 pm (EST)

We will be keeping this page as a lasting tribute to Herbie and Chester. Georgiann will use this space to reflect on the memories of her two great friends and so we would appreciate it if you could leave your comments and thoughts below.

I know we say we own our dogs, but we no more own a dog than we do our children or spouses, as I believe all souls are equal unto God.

    With My Deepest Sympathies,

    Gabreael

I am so sorry for the loss of Herbie, Georgiann. I just lost my dear beloved Moe. I had to have him put to sleep yesterday, February 15th. He was a fox terrier, 16 years old. He was in a lot of pain. I held his hand and told him I loved him as he left his body. I miss him so very much. I know we will see our loved ones again, and that in truth, they have never left us, as love is eternal. may our broken hearts be the space for more love and joy to be held and shared.

    Georgiann,
I will always remember Herbie growling in the background during our phone conversations. It was the cutest thing to hear. He was the King of the yard guarding you against squirrels and grasshoppers, barking fiercely like a 100 lb companion. I will always remember the stories of the constant attention he receive when he was out and about with you. I still giggle when I think of the story of the two military guys who were waving hello to Herbie while you were driving your car. Herbie was like a famous Rock Star when he was out with you. And he loved every minute of it. He was a faithful little companion who was truly a blessing. His memories will always live on. My heart goes out to you my wonderful friend. Love & Friendship,
    Vanessa

  28. ReganNo Gravatar Says:

Georgiann, I am so very sorry that you lost Herbie. There is a bond between pet and “owner” (not the right word, but you know what I mean) that can never be broken. I still have fond memories of my beloved dog Zeke–he has been gone for over nine years, but now I smile when I remember him, and his picture still sits in a frame on my desk. While I never got the chance to know Chester, his picture shows what a fine dog he was. And I remember when you got Herbie, and your being so proud of his photos, and hearing him bark during our calls. You will never forget either of these dear friends, and I believe they will never forget you either. There is a quote on one of my grandmother’s Mass cards that reads “Life is changed, not taken away.” I believe that that is true, and you will be reunited with your friends again. In the meantime, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, and that you have many human friends who care about you an awful lot.
