She is a best-selling author with over 1 million books sold – known for creating a new breed of books – “self help for people who would never be caught dead reading self help.” Or: “self help books you can give as a gift — and not get slapped, because they look kinda cool.”

It all began with a single email from one man to his friends. Today it’s in over 85 countries.

At the time Deron Beal founded The Freecycle Network™, he worked with a small nonprofit organization, RISE, which provides recycling services to downtown businesses and transitional employment to Tucsonans in need.freecycle

The Freecycle Network™ began as a simple thought to get rid of unwanted junk without throwing it away. That vision remains true today.

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,885 groups with 7,017,000 members across the globe reusing items that still have life left in them. It definitely gives true meaning to, “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.”

Join Georgiann and the founder of The Freecycle Network, Deron Beal, as together they discuss the importance of getting rid of landfills and the power in regifting useable items.

Thank You From Georgiann & A Message From Herbie

Herbie

Michelle Ruble drew this beautiful portrait of Herbie for Georgiann in pastels and we are so excited to share it with you all, along with an EVP (electronic voice phenomena) sent to Georgiann from Gabreael, the renowned psychic medium who is a regular special guest on Breaking Through. Gabreael used her Ghost Box to ask about Herbie, you can clearly hear him barking toward the end of the clip! You can listen by clicking the play button below.

Gabraeal - Herbie Barking

Answer:   ”Hear Herbie”……(Barking)

These are just two examples of the wonderful support Georgiann has received and she would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all of you for your kindness.

The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur

Next Week on Breaking Through -Mike Michalowicz Mike Michalowicz
February 23, 2010 – 8PM EST

Click the play button above to listen to the show!

The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur is long on down-to-earth, results-oriented action plans for the aspiring entrepreneur and short on commonly held but unrealistic or unnecessary “must haves.”
Championing the underdog and the under-funded, author Mike Michalowicz describes the attributes of the Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, the scrappy, passionate, go-getters who are “TPing it,” getting by and growing big with little or no money – or experience.
The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur helps first-time entrepreneurs develop the qualities and beliefs they need to recognize and cultivate in order to succeed in business, explaining how to cut through excuses and pursue the business that sets their hearts afire.

Mike Michalowicz started his first business at the age of 24, moving his young family to the only safe place he could afford – a retirement village. With limited resources and no experience, he systematically bootstrapped a multi-million dollar technology business, sleeping in conference rooms to avoid hotel costs. After selling his first company, Mike launched a new business the very next day, and in less than three years, sold it to a Fortune 500.

He has received multiple entrepreneurship awards, including the SBA’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Mike is a recurring guest on CNBC’s The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, ABC News, Fox News and other television programs. He has also been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, US News & World Report, National Public Radio (NPR), the New York Times, and other publications.
On top of all that…he’s one funny guy! Tune in to hear his words of wisdom; Tuesday, February 23, 2010 8-9pm EST

Click the play button above to listen to the show!

HerbieandChester

Next week’s planned show has been canceled due to the tragic and sudden loss of our little Herbie. Instead we will be re-airing an interview which was recorded in October 2009, with Bethanne Elion, Author of “Memoirs of the Bathtub Psychic: The True Story of a Clairvoyant and Her Dogs”.

This show will go out in tribute to Georgiann’s beloved Herbie (”Lovebug”) and her equally beloved Sheltie Chester who passed away in 1999.

Georgiann would like to thank everyone for their messages and kind words of comfort and support.

Tribute Show Date – Tuesday 16th February 2010
8:00 pm (EST)

We will be keeping this page as a lasting tribute to Herbie and Chester. Georgiann will use this space to reflect on the memories of her two great friends and so we would appreciate it if you could leave your comments and thoughts below.
