There is a bond between pet and "owner" (not the right word, but you know what I mean) that can never be broken. I still have fond memories of my beloved dog Zeke--he has been gone for over nine years, but now I smile when I remember him, and his picture still sits in a frame on my desk. While I never got the chance to know Chester, his picture shows what a fine dog he was. And I remember when you got Herbie, and your being so proud of his photos, and hearing him bark during our calls. You will never forget either of these dear friends, and I believe they will never forget you either. There is a quote on one of my grandmother's Mass cards that reads "Life is changed, not taken away." I believe that that is true, and you will be reunited with your friends again. In the meantime, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, and that you have many human friends who care about you an awful lot. Georgiann, I am so very sorry that you lost Herbie.
